What is Dosia?
Dosia is a free personal medicine inventory tracker and dose reminder app. Keep your medicines, quantities, schedules, and batch expiry dates in one place. Record doses as you take them and use low-stock alerts to plan a refill before the cupboard is empty.
It is built around a practical problem: a medicine can be difficult to replace, and noticing an empty pack at dose time is too late to start planning. Dosia makes the remaining supply visible alongside your daily agenda.
Dose reminders and stock tracking together
A reminder answers “when is my next dose?” Inventory answers “how much do I have left?” Dosia connects the two. Your entered schedule helps estimate days of supply, while recorded dose actions contribute to the stock history.
Mark a scheduled dose taken, snooze a reminder, or record a skip. A record reflects what you entered; it is not proof that a medicine was taken. Browser permissions and device settings affect notification delivery.
Track quietly or choose reminders
Choose dose reminders separately for each medicine. With reminders off, Dosia updates scheduled consumption daily and marks the remaining stock estimated. Low-stock and expiry alerts have their own switches, so tracking supply does not require a prompt for every dose.
With reminders on, choose push, email, or both in notification settings. You can snooze a prompt, adjust how often it repeats, and set how long reminders continue. See how tracking without dose reminders works.
Tablets, liquids, and injections
Not every medicine runs out one tablet at a time. A bottle is measured in millilitres; an injection may use a vial or pen. Choose the medicine form and quantity unit that matches your prescription and packaging.
Keep the units consistent between your starting quantity and the amount recorded for a dose. Dosia helps organize those entries; your pharmacist or prescriber remains the source for how to use the medicine.
Know when to restock
Configure quantity and days-of-supply thresholds for low-stock alerts. A harder-to-find medicine may need more ordering time, so choose a buffer that reflects how you obtain it.
Days remaining are estimates based on your recorded supply and schedule. Changes to the schedule, unrecorded doses, and new packs can change the result. Check your physical supply when the estimate does not look right.
Track batches and expiry dates
Add separate batches when packs have different expiry dates. Dosia keeps batch quantities and expiry information together and uses the earliest-expiring available batch when allocating consumption.
A large quantity does not make a pack usable after its labelled expiry. Storage and after-opening limits may also matter. Record the dates you have and follow the label and professional instructions.
Start with one medicine
- Sign in with Google and add your medicine.
- Enter the quantity you physically have and the schedule you have been instructed to follow.
- Choose reminder and stock-alert preferences.
- Record dose actions and update batches when you restock.
One account is one person’s medicine list. Dosia does not currently offer household profiles or caregiver switching. Start with accurate information rather than importing an assumed schedule.
Install from your browser
Dosia is a progressive web app. Use it in a browser or add it to your home screen where installation is supported. The installed app opens your daily agenda, with the same Google account and saved medicine list.
Installation and push notifications vary by device. Enable notification permission and check that your settings permit delivery. Keep your existing medicine routine in place while you check the app works on your device.
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
What is Dosia?
Dosia is a free personal medicine inventory tracker and dose reminder web app. It records your supply, dose schedule, batches, and expiry dates, and helps you notice when it is time to restock.
Is Dosia free?
Dosia is free to use. Google sign-in is required to save your medicine list. One account holds one person’s list.
Can I track more than tablets?
Yes. Dosia supports medicine forms including tablets, liquids, and injections, with quantities and units configured for how you use them.
How do medicine reminders work?
Set a schedule and enable your preferred available notification channels. You can mark a dose taken, snooze it, or skip it. Push delivery depends on browser support, permission, connectivity, and device settings.
Does Dosia warn me about low stock?
You can enable low-stock alerts and set quantity and days-of-supply thresholds. Estimates depend on the stock count and schedule you enter.
Does Dosia track medicine expiry?
You can record batch expiry dates and enable expiry alerts. Follow the medicine label and pharmacist’s instructions for storage and use after opening.
Can I use Dosia on my phone?
Open Dosia in your browser or install it as a progressive web app on supported devices. No app-store download is required.
Does Dosia recommend a dose?
No. Dosia records the schedule you enter. It does not prescribe medicines, recommend doses, or tell you how to make up a missed dose.
Can I track stock without dose reminders?
Yes. Turn dose reminders off for a scheduled medicine and Dosia deducts assumed scheduled consumption in a daily update, marked estimated. Low-stock and expiry alerts can be configured separately. As-needed medicines are not automatically deducted this way.
Can I receive email reminders?
Yes. Choose email, push, or both for supported notification types in notification settings. Email delivery requires the service to be configured by the operator.
Can I mark a course complete?
Yes. Mark a medicine’s course complete or discontinue it to stop ongoing stock tracking and reminders while retaining its history. Completing a course records a different reason from discontinuing it.
