What a medicine inventory tracker records
A medicine inventory tracker records the supply you have on hand and changes to that supply. In Dosia, that includes medicine details, batch quantities, expiry dates, schedules, and recorded dose actions.
A calendar reminder alone cannot tell you how many tablets remain. Inventory adds a count, but that count is only useful when the starting quantity and later updates are accurate.
Set up a clear starting count
- Check the medicine name and packaging.
- Count the usable quantity you actually have.
- Select the form and quantity unit.
- Add separate batches for different packs or expiry dates.
- Enter your existing prescribed schedule.
Keep units consistent
For a fictional supply of 60 tablets at a recorded use of 2 tablets per day, the arithmetic is 30 days. For liquids, keep the stock and dose in the same volume unit. Do not mix the number of bottles with the number of millilitres.
These are inventory examples, not instructions for taking a medicine. The app does not decide which medicine, amount, or schedule is appropriate.
Keep the record aligned with the cupboard
Add new batches when you restock. Use available batch recount controls when a physical count differs from the record. A confirmed physical count is more useful than a long history built on an incorrect opening quantity.
The broader reconciliation and catch-up screens are still placeholders. Do not rely on an automated reconciliation workflow that is not yet available.
Keep completed courses and history organized
Review dose and stock history, correct supported dose records, and retain past information when a course ends. Mark a course complete or discontinue a medicine to stop ongoing tracking and reminders. Explore course status and history.
